Southern Girls - Glitter challenge

Hi there, welcome to our last challenge for the year at Southern Girls Challenge. I can't believe how fast this year has whizzed by & that Christmas is now under 2 weeks away. Time to get organised I think!!
This challenge is Glitter, I love these glittery thickers which I have used for my title & have also added a couple of glittery hearts. I have mainly used products from a Hip Kit Club kit, the papers/chipboard are the lovely Maggie Holmes Willow Lane Collection & the background is Shimmerz sprays. The super cute XO is from Charms Creations.

Southern Girls - Inks & Sprays

Hi there, it's time for another Southern Girls Challenge & this time it's Inks & Sprays.

For this one I used photos from Georgia's 21st birthday family dinner. They are spread over 2 layouts & will go together in the album (another double not double!). Unfortunately the lighting at the restaurant was not great so the photos are not as good as I would like but hey any photo is better than nothing, right?

Anyway for my inks/sprays I have used Vicki Boutin crayons & using a stencil brush have applied them through a stencil for my hearts background. I have used different colours up the page to match the different colours in the patterned paper. The paper & embellies are also Vicki Boutin, from the new Field Notes collection which I am loving right now.

Southern Girls - Spots & Dots

Hi there, the month's are rolling around super fast now & it's time for another Southern Girls challenge. This time it is spots & dots. I have used a cut file that a friend gave to me & have backed it using mainly Cocoa Vanilla Bohemian Dream papers mixed with a couple of coloured cardstocks. It took me over 2 hours to back it as most of the circles had to be done individually so it was time consuming but worth it as I really like the way it turned out. I was at a weekend retreat so had plenty of time to play.

The embellies are from the Bohemian Dream collection as is the title which I have coloured with distress oxide. Overall I have kept it quite simple as I felt the page was already busy enough.
Unfortunately my photo was a little dark to start with & didn't photograph that well so it does look better in real life.

Make sure you head over to the Southern Girls blog & check out the lovely creations from

Southern Girls Challenge - A little bit of Metal - Celebrate

Hi there, welcome back to another Southern Girls Challenge & this one is a little bit of metal. I have a small collection of trinkets which I usually forget to use so it was great to have reason to feature some on a layout.

Thanks to our fantastic sponsor for this challenge:

The celebrate was a family members wedding which was in a lovely country setting & we took the opportunity to snap some photos at the same time.

I have used the gorgeous Mintay Birdsong collection for my layout with 49 & Market flowers. My little bit of metal is 2 cute little music notes & a butterfly. I have tucked them in so have included some closeups below.

My layout is based on this Sketch from Sketchabilities which I am entering into their #152 challenge.

Southern Girls - Flower Power

Good morning & welcome back to another Southern Girls challenge. This time it's to use flowers 'flower power'. I have used flowers from the Vicki Boutin All the Good Things embellishment pack & tucked them in under my photo.

The photo was taken in Brisbane last year on the day we were going to see Adele. We had a lovely day wandering around South Bank & then headed to the concert which was fantastic.

Most of my layout is made using the Dec17 Hip Kit, I have stamped & stenciled my background with Vicki Boutin stamps, stencils, inks & glaze. I really love these thickers & the pretty sequins.

Southern Girls - A bit of flash

Hi there, welcome to another Southern Girls Challenge & this time it's a bit of flash, something pretty, shiny or glitzy.
I didn't really set out to do a double layout & it's not really a double layout but I couldn't choose between these photos of Georgia taken at Bank's Peninsula which is about an hour from where we live. She was away on a camping weekend with friends.  And both layouts will go in the album together so I guess they kinda are a double!
I have used The Paper Teapot June kit, I was lucky enough to win this kit at a local crop & I really love it, everything goes so well together. My bit of flash for the challenge is sequins which I have used on both pages.

Southern Girls - Winter Blues

Hi there, I am back with another Southern Girls challenge & the theme of winter blues is very appropriate at the moment as winter seems to have hit us suddenly with a freezing cold blast. My photo is of Georgia when she was in Scandinavia last year.

I have used the gorgeous Stamperia collection Blue Stars, a mix of flowers, Scrapiniec & Blue Fern chipboard, Charms Creations music paper arrow & Rainbow Splendour wooden embellies.  I have used Nuvo Mousse for the stenciled background.

Southern Girls Challenge - Retro - Use a punch

Hi there, our challenge for Team Trace this time is to use a punch. I do tend to forget about my punches so I enjoyed getting them out & having a play & I ended up using my large circle punch. My starting point for this layout was a Hip Kit club sketch. The photo  is a recent one taken from our trip down to the Catlins for a family wedding. While we were there we went to the Purakaunui Falls, my daughter loves waterfalls & I snapped this photo of her in front of the falls.

this is the sketch I have used:

Everything I have used on my layout are from recent hip kits featuring Pinkfresh Studios products.

Southern Girls -Pop it up

The weeks are flying by, hard to believe we are already in March! It's time for another Southern Girls challenge & this time it's pop it up with foam. I have made this layout as a present for a friend, the photo is of her daughter who has just left home & moved to another city. Her favourite colour is yellow so I have based the layout around that & added in a little pink & black. I have popped up the paper layers with foam dots as you can see in the close ups. My background is colour paste through a gorgeous floral stencil & the paper is Bo Bunny Petal Lane, one of my recent favourites. Add in a yellow heart & a few flowers & we're done.

Southern Girls - 3 patterned papers

Hi there, time for another Southern Girls challenge & this time it's to use at least 3 patterned papers, not to hard right 😉.  I have been trying to use up some older collections recently so I have used the Heidi Swapp Magnolia Jane collection. Embellishments are from Heidi Swapp, Rainbow Splendour, Corbett Creations &   D-lish scraps.

The photo is of my youngest daughter Aimee in Wellington when we went up there for the weekend last year.
A couple of close ups, I have started off with texture paste through one of my favourite Tim Holtz stencils & added some pink & gold splatters.

Southern Girls - Stitching

Hi there, welcome to our first challenge for the year at Southern Girls, I hope everyone managed to get some crafty time in over the holiday break. The challenge is stitching, an easy one for me because I love to stitch on my layouts.
This is the first layout for awhile (ever?) that I haven't used patterned paper, instead I have used some red tissue paper behind the photos, colour paste &
various embellies.
The photos are of my daughter from when she was travelling around Europe last year.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone, hope you are enjoying the holiday season & are getting to spend time with loved ones & maybe fit in some creative time also. I have had a couple of days scrapping with my sister, which was lovely, and I have a few layouts to share. My daughter, Georgia,  spent 10 weeks travelling around Europe & Scandinavia last year & I finally managed to get some photos printed of her trip. My first layout is of her kayaking at sunset in the Adriatic Sea off the coast of Dubrovnik. I absolutely loved Dubrovnik when I did my OE many moons ago so I was really pleased she got to go there.

I have used the Cocoa Vanilla Bohemian Dream collection, colour paste from Colour Blast & a few embellies from Rainbow Splendour & Charms Creations.

My next layout is also using the Bohemian Dream collection. The paper, embellies & title are all from the collection. These photos of my sister Vicky & I and mum were taken in August on the Sunshine Coast when we went over to visit for Vicky's birthday.

That's it for now, more to come in the next couple of days. Until then stay safe & enjoy the rest of the holidays!!
